A beautiful Campaign Writing Slope in mahogany, mini- drawers, inkwells, working lock with key.

This super looking box has a lovely mahogany grain, good colour and patination. It has a vacant brass cartouche to the lid (which could be engraved) and a matching brass key escutcheon. The box is reinforced with brass edge caps to guard against damage when travelling.

The box opens to reveal a very attractive gold-tooled leather writing surface/skiver in green which is in excellent condition. Interior fittings include, two original silver-capped ink bottles, two inkwell compartments, a removeable pen tray, and a nib box and rest. There are also three mini-drawers that can be used for the storage of nibs, stamps and paper clips. Beneath the lift-up writing boards, there are two shallow storage areas suitable for the storage of small items of stationery, letters or documents. The box has a functioning lock and a key is provided.
