An impressive Georgian Writing Slope in mahogany, secret drawers, internal and external locks and keys.

This beautiful Slope has a lovely grain, patina and colour. It is in excellent condition and all the brass elements are in extremely good order.

Features.

This box has a working internal lock and key for the top writing board, this allows secure storage of confidential papers and documents. The external lock and key are also in good working order. The box has a fully-functioning secret compartment concealing three small drawers, a red leather skiver in excellent condition, brass end handles, and new green baize fitted to the base to protect furniture. In addition, this box features a pen tray, and three small compartments for ink bottles,  stamps and paperclips. The secret compartment mechanism is operated by pressing down on the base underneath the pen tray.

Condition

Excellent. As with most boxes of this age, there is usually a degree of surface scratching, age related marks, and minor dings. However, there is nothing serious here to detract from the beauty and quality of this piece.
